Joe Robinson
Having quickly entrenched himself as Australia’s newest music phenomenon –
Joe Robinson is truly a virtuoso musician. His jaw dropping instrumental stylings have
garnered the attention of many guitar masters, including Les Paul, Steve Vai, Brad Paisley,
Tommy Emmanuel, Brent Mason, Lee Ritenour, Steve Cropper and Dweezil Zappa.
At a young age Joe has played headline shows in major centers all over the globe –
including London, New York, Helsinki, Budapest, Sydney, Berlin, Milan, Vienna, Bangkok,
Rome and Amsterdam. As an award winning and prolific songwriter/composer, fearless and
energetic performer and humble, likeable individual – Robinson seems destined for greatness.
Joe began playing guitar as a youth – growing up in the Australian “bush.”
Learning mainly from Youtube – the young prodigy soon began playing and touring with
many of the top names in the Australian music industry. The release of his 2005 debut CD
Birdseed led to an invitation for the then fourteen year old to perform in Nashville,
TN with one of his guitar idols... Tommy Emmanuel. It was this trip which brought him to the
attention of Grammy Award winning producer Frank Rogers, who would produce his next outing
Time Jumpin. Shortly before the recording of this project, Joe performed on
‘Australia’s Got Talent’ reality TV show, where he won first place.
In July 2009, Joe participated in the World Championships of Performing Arts
in Hollywood, CA. This event draws over 75,000 aspiring singers, musicians, actors, dancers
and models from over 40 countries. Further proving his prowess as a master guitarist,
Robinson became the youngest and first instrumentalist to take the top prize –
and he now bestows the prestigious title: ‘Senior Grand Champion Performer of The World’.
After this win, Robinson joined with acclaimed music industry executive Reen Nalli
(INXS, India.Arie, Blue October... known for her ability to nourish rare talent and open
these unique artists to the masses) where the personable musician/writer/vocalist continues
to hone his live performances and songwriting.
Recently voted “Best New Talent” by the readers of Guitar Player magazine,
Joe is expected to release an entirely new project in 2011.
